Tucson Lifestyle
Tucson's plentiful sunshine, natural beauty, and diverse culture lend to an active lifestyle rich in great food (the first North American city to be designated a UNESCO City of Gastronomy), gorgeous hikes, challenging biking trails, plus a destination for Mid-Century architecture and culture.
Tucson Modernism Week
Atomic Tucson’s Michelle Hotchkiss was a co-founder/co-chair for The Tucson Historic Preservation Foundation annual Tucson Modernism Week. Tucson’s modernism captured the exuberance of the post-WWII era and is defined by clean, simple lines and a casual informality. In the southern Arizona desert, the movement has come to be defined as Sonoran Modern with the use of regional materials, adaptation to the desert climate, and an emphasis on indoor/outdoor living. Tucson Modernism Week celebrates this rich Mid-Century culture and architecture of our region.
